Kaya's sixth birthday was September 21. Her party was at Graeter's Ice Cream Factory, and she invited all the girls (no boys) from her kindergarten class, plus some old friends from her preschool (The Goddard School) and two neighbor girls.

The kids were greeted at the door. This is Kaya, with her mommy and grandpa, greeting Amanda, from pre-school

The Ice Cream Factory has a nice play room, including a banana seesaw. This is Kaya and Dylan on the seesaw, although not at the same time.

This is Dylan with Ava, who lives next door. Dylan is very good about playing with younger kids.

If there is a basketball hoop Dylan will find it.

You can't have a party without noisemakers, although these two don't really need them.

Kaya was having a great time.

The party was at an Ice Cream factory, so guess what the refreshments were!!

How much Ice Cream can a six year old eat??

After the Ice Cream factory party, it was home for the family party. Dylan and Josh were resting up for whatever was to come.

Presents, presents and more presents, which should she open first??

Wow, a new dress!!!

Each year High Point Elementary has a Walk-a-thon to raise money for the PTA. The kids and teachers go to the track at a nearby Middle School and walk laps. Parents, friends, and relatives pledge an amout of money per lap. Dylan cheated, he didn't walk all the time, he ran!!!! Would you believe 30 laps, and each lap is a quarter mile. That's 7 and a half miles. Next year we will pledge a penny a mile. By the way, they made $25,000.

Before they started walking, Kaya's kindergarten class posed for pictures. Kaya is the one with the pink baseball cap, front and center.

Dylan took a water break occasionally.

Carolyn got to walk a few laps with Kaya.

Dylan ran, Kaya walked.

The Gahanna Lincoln High School mascot is the Lion, so he was there. Kaya was a big fan.

Kaya loves to wear new dresses.

Sometimes the kids act like brother and sister.

Another new dress????

Dylan is always active. Here he is a Grandma and Grandpa's house seeing how many pillows he can jump over.

In fourth grade they start learning about musical instruments. This one is called a Recorder. In their Christmas program, Dylan played a Xylophone.

Kaya's kindergarten class had a halloween party.

Halloween calls for costumes for beggar's night.

Dylan went as Terrelle Pryor, the OSU Buckeyes quarterback. Terrelle keeps a list of plays taped to his wrist. Kaya was a Buckeye cheerleader.

Climbing walls are always a big attraction.

Kaya is learning to read, and Dylan is there to help.

High Point Elementary has a Veteran's Day program each year, and each student can invite a friend or relative who is a veteran. They have cookies and punch in the cafeteria after the program. Dylan and Kaya invited their Uncle John.

The halloween pumpkins provide a little entertainment after halloween.

Mrs. Hunt, Kaya's Kindergarten teacher, bought a stuffed lion and is giving it to each student for a weekend, to play with and take care of. They have to report on Monday what they did with the lion. Kaya was the first student to take it for the weekend, and she spent the whole weekend playing with it.

Grandma had a birthday recently also, but she is not telling how many. We had her birthday dinner at a new Irish Pub in Gahanna. Someone took a group picture. The daisies on the table were a gift from Kaya and Dylan.
